Take Democracy Back is a united front of Americans dedicated to exposing threats to our democratic system, resisting tyranny, and empowering citizens to transform both their communities and our nation.
Our Story
Take Democracy Back emerged from a shared sense of urgency and a deep concern for the future of American democracy. We are not politicians or Washington insiders. We are ordinary citizens who have witnessed the growing threats to our democratic system and felt a responsibility to act.
We saw the increasing influence of corporate money in politics, the rise of partisan division and gridlock, and the erosion of trust in our institutions. We recognized the danger of allowing power to become concentrated in the hands of a few, while the voices of everyday Americans were being ignored.
Inspired by the long history of Americans standing up for their rights and freedoms, we came together, one concerned citizen at a time. We believe that the power to shape our nation lies with the people, and that by uniting, organizing, and taking action, we can reclaim our democracy and build a more just and equitable future for all.
